Loïc Van Staey joins KBRV as adviser in Taxation, Finances and Safety

06/11/2024
  • Having worked in the cabinet of former Deputy Premier Vincent Van Quickenborne then the outgoing Deputy Premier Paul Van Tigchelt, and also in the private sector as a tax consultant, Loïc Van Staey joins the Royal Belgian Shipowners' Association (KBRV) as an adviser in Taxation, Finances and Safety.

With the enormous challenges ahead for the Belgian shipping industry, especially in view of the Clean Industrial Deal of the new European Commission and the IMO's 2023 Revised GHG Strategy, Loïc brings his knowledge of ship financing and energy taxation, especially in green financing, to the team.

Shipping is certainly not a new industry to Loïc as his experience in the ministerial cabinets included the North Sea.

"I am excited to join the KBRV team to work together to further advance the interests of our members at both European and international levels," said Loïc Van Staey. "Really happy to be back working in Antwerp and the office view on the port is simply stunning."
