More than 40 largest sailing ships in the world will gather in the Port of Antwerp for the seventh time, before racing one another to Aalborg in Denmark on 25 July.
Discover the maritime sector at the #SeaYou tent! As a maritime nation, Belgian Shipping is world-renowned for its innovations and professionalism. As part of the Tall Ships Races programme, there will be activities and contests organised at the tent to attract new talents into the seafaring profession at the time of energy transition and digitalisation.
The #SeaYou tent will be located at the world’s first multimodal hydrogen refuelling station built by CMB.TECH, where the public will be able to get a view of the decarbonised future of shipping and transport in general.
Apart from viewing various videos about the industry, guests will be able to test their strength at a high striker. Each day, 400 lucky participants will not only be treated to a delicious ‘boule de Berlin‘ (a traditional Belgian beach snack), but also experience a ride on the waters on a sloop operated by the Antwerp Maritime Academy.
Interested participants can also take part in a written quiz to assess their knowledge of the shipping industry, and try their luck in a lucky draw each day.
(Friday 22 July) a Meal Voucher at the Royal Yacht Club of Antwerp. The prize will be presented by Mr Wilfried Lemmens, RBSA’s Managing Director;
(Saturday 23 July) a Sailing Lesson in Antwerp’s Galgenweel offered by the RBSA. The prize will be presented by Mr Vincent Van Quickenborne, Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice and for the North Sea;
(Sunday 24 July) a Round Trip on River Scheldt on the Hydroville, the world’s first hydrogen-powered passnger ferry for two groups of family and friends. The prize will be presented by Mr Alexander Saverys, CEO of CMB.TECH.
All other prizes and free goodies are offered by the members of the RBSA.
The tent is located at Mexicostraat 11 (Infra H2), in the Eilandje district of Antwerp.
